About the hike: The trail leading to Horseshoe bend is a heavily traveled 1.3 mile in and back-out trail. The elevation gain is 200 feet and easy for all levels. Horseshoe Bend is an iconic photography destination and can get crowded.

There's also a guard rail around the edge which keeps you safe but does make getting that perfect shot challenging. If you're heading to Lake Powell for a weekend excursion on a houseboat make sure you stop to see Horseshoe Bend.
