Antelope Canyon-Page, AZ

Antelope Canyon in Page, Arizona is located 287 miles from Fountain Hills, Arizona. The fastest route is via I-17 north to US-89 North. Depending on traffic and stops it takes between 4.5 - 5 hours to reach Antelope Canyon.

Antelope Canyon is a slot canyon located on Navajo land east of Page, Arizona. The canyon is separated into both an "Upper" and "Lower" Antelope Canyon. You are only permitted into the canyons through a guided 30 minute tour. The pictures below are from a guided tour I did in October 2018 into the Lower Antelope Canyon know as the "Corkscrew" that is 1,335 feet. This is a very iconic and highly photographed area in the American Southwest.

You do need to be prepared for the crowds as new tours are going into the canyon every 30 minutes.

Entrance into Lower Antelope Canyon

As you meander into the slot canyon it grows very dark. You are not allowed to use flashlights or flashes on your camera.

Light does filter in throughout the canyon. Even within the canyon walks life survives and flourishes from the light that splice through.

You exit on the other side of the canyon and then walk back through. They do ask that you only take pictures on your first pass through the canyon but not on your way back out.
